1. What are we aiming to accomplish?

FeedAFamily aims to feed as many families as we possibly can. Since our program simply donates 100% of the donors dollars towards the purchase and delivery of fresh food, we are only limited by the number of donor to families in need ratio. To be successful we deliver complete transparency to our donors and the community; there are no secrets to where the dollars go. We take great pride in the communities trust and provide each donor a receipt of all the food their donations provided. Our goal each year is to plant a new FeedAFamily Chapter in a new State; letting it grow from a fresh pair of volunteer eyes. Great organizations are founded from the roots of good people; our success is driven by people helping people.

2. What are our strategies for making this happen?

The primary strategy to succeed in this program is to not rush or bite off more than one organization can chew. Understanding our limits of accumulating people in need versus the donor climate of the area being served is crucial. This balance allows people in need to receive assistance from the community in a timely manner.

3. What are our organization's capabilities for doing this?

FeedAFamily has the grass roots capability for providing National services. We are limited only by the area’s grocer infrastructure. If an area is deliverable by a grocer; FeedAFamily can provide families our services. We are 100% operationally online; from family sign up, community participation, to food at the door step, FeedAFamily is capable all via an internet connection.

4. How will we know if we're making progress?

The indicators of progress are simple, we monitor by asking one question: are families in need being helped? As noted earlier FeedAFamily is a conduit between those who want to help to those who need the help. We streamline the fight against hunger and economic challenges with precise efficiency. FeedAFamily’s cost of operation consists of the Paypal transaction fee and the grocer’s delivery fee, with the program running as one of the most efficient of its kind, we need only gauge progress through the people we serve.

5. What have and haven't we accomplished so far?

Among the great strides the community as our support structure and mission mover have allowed us to accomplish, a prevalent question remains, how are we going to make our program better? Well for one, we have branched out and networked our services with some local area facilities which aim to rehabilitate families undergoing economic distress. These organizations include missions that strengthen families and improve the physical and emotional well-being of residents by providing counseling, education, and easy access to community based resources. FeedAFamily is now being utilized as a resource to assist families in their growth within the community through these organizations such as KidsFirst and the LightHouse Counseling and Family Resource Center. FeedAFamily’s most recent endeavor for betterment is housed in the need to provide our families with quality food with the most efficient use of our donor’s dollar. Why is this important? Well the obvious answer of “being efficient isn't the entire motive; while our organization was created around efficient measures, we have found that struggling families are more susceptible to unhealthy eating. Obesity has been on the rise for years, while this alongside the health issues that arise from the epidemic is common knowledge, when it comes to eating on a budget, healthy eating can be extremely difficult… and this knowledge is not necessarily common. What FeedAFamily aims to do is

put forth a program which evaluates each household according to the average caloric intake required to sustain an individual’s weight gauged on current height weight and age against a National average of healthy active adults and children. We understand that this will be short of an exacting measure; yet we feel that this is a step in the right direction to provide the appropriate amount of healthy food to those in need. While taking into account the appropriate calories required per family, we will be able to stay true in providing a family of four with a better estimate towards a weeks-worth of food compared to a family of a single mother and young child. Again none of these motives or goals could be placed into motion if it wasn't for you, our supporters. Thank you for all you have done and made possible with FeedAFamily to help families in your community.
