How Far will your Dollar Go?

We took the highest caloric intake averages of the typical man, woman, and teen determining a daily total intake to sustain a "US National Standard" body weight.  Our average, FeedAFamily provides 413 calories per dollar donated. It has been brought to our attention that families undergoing financial struggles are often forced to eat highly processed foods or "food-like-items" due to their inexpensive nature. At FeedAFamily we battle the fight against hunger while making good food choices from home easy.

Family of 3
2 Adults 1 Child or Teen
2417/1864/1400 or 2000 =  5,681 or 6,281 Calories Daily
3 Days of Food = $41 to $45
5 Days of Food= $68 to $80

Family of 4
2 Adults 2 Children or 2 Teens
2417/1864/2800 or 4000 =    7,081 or 8,281 Calories Daily
3 Days of Food = $51 to $60
5 Days of Food = $85 to $100

Single Parent Families

1 Adult 2 or 3 Children

1864/2800 or 4200 =  4,664 or 6,064 Calories Daily

3 Days of Food= $34 to $45
5 Days of Food = $56 to $73

Again these are conservative averages the numbers are not exact... there are many variables that go into a family's meal structure, and we find that our families are able to carefully manage the groceries provided allowing the donation to last longer.
